Important method to save your phone fallen in the water

Is your phone (or mp3 player) even lost if you accidentally dropped it in the water? Not yet. First, try to save it using the following method.

Save your phone

  1. Get your phone out of the water as soon as possible. The plastic casing of phones is quite tight, but water can come to the inside of your phone within a very short time. Get out of your phone! If you can not get your phone out of the water fast enough, your best option is to get the battery under water.
  2. Do not panic. Your phone will probably not be damaged if this short time has been in the water.
  3. Remove the battery if you have not already done so. This is one of the most important steps . Do not take the time to think about it; electricity and water do not go together. Many parts will survive water damage when there is no power.
  4. Remove your SIM card. Some or all of your contacts (with other data) could be stored on your SIM. For some people, saving the SIM card may be more valuable than saving the phone itself. SIM cards survive water damage, only do not heat up.
  5. Dry your phone. Of course, you must ensure that you remove as much water as possible within a short period of time. Now use kitchen paper or toilet paper to remove residual residue.
  6. Remove as many front covers, cases and connections from the phone.
  7. Place all parts of your phone in an airtight bowl of uncooked rice for a few hours to rest. Thus, all the last bits of water will be absorbed by the rice.
  8. Finally, connect your phone and turn it on

Phone is no longer active
After you have completed the above steps, your phone will not turn on. If this is the case, try to charge the battery when you are sure all parts are dry. If you still do not want to phone, then you will most likely need to repair a replacement or replacement battery.

Phone goes on, but not everything works more
If this is the case, your phone has sustained water damage. This could happen because the phone was on while it fell into the water. Due to the flow of water, it may have been that something has burned.
In this case, you will have to call the warranty or bring your phone to a repair shop.

No rice at home?
If you do not have any uncooked rice in your house you can use the following products instead of rice:

  • Beef jerky
  • Silica Gel

Furthermore, when you do not have any of the above products, you can keep your phone ( not your battery!) In the oven low or use a hair dryer to dry your phone. These methods are not recommended and are entirely at your own risk.
